Flower Art – Hawaiian Pua Lehua
The Art of Nature: A series of pictures featuring the colourful art & contrasts made by nature. Natural works of art produced by flowering plants and trees. A celebration of spring, the resilience of nature & life itself.
Hawaii Island Flower
This is a Hawaiian Pua Lehua flower, laughing in the face of adversity and not discouraged by the challenging conditions of its environment. It’s bravely bursting its way up through a crack in the solidified lava flow of the Kilauea Iki crater in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
Pua Lehua is the official flower of the Hawaiian Big Island.
Flowering volcanic desert
Volcanic landscapes may look like a barren wasteland at first sight. But they’re actually full of life, laying the foundation of fertile soil for various plants to spring forth from.
Pua Lehua – Resilience of nature. Little trees sprouting from the crater floor.
